Fearful Symmetries

Out of the black
bodies
emerge
into light
then
retreat
as the strings and wind
wind around
our view
into this place

blind
connections
rushing
towards
the edge

so close
you can hear
the heavy
hungry gasp
holding on to each moment
as if it were the last
chance
to breathe
