Soaking Wet
April 04, 2018
It is work
to put a mind
in a sturdy place
the reliable space
of
understanding
understanding
is
so
bloody
slippery
shapeless
sliding
between
the well inked
intended
lines
out of a child's
small fingered
grasp of reality
like an oiled
water balloon
it
oozes
out
slowly
through
wrought iron
insistence
of what was
meant
then
suddenly
Crash
Splash
It lands
However
One can be certain
of the impact
only
if
Soaking wet.
Based on the prompt to write a poem that describes an abstraction in the form of relentlessly concrete nouns

Great Metaphor! I feel like that often. Mostly confused and disoriented with random moments of clarity that feel like they should last longer then they do. Then splash, understanding breaks on the floor somehow. lol.
